Hints

Your army. Your army is made up of units. Each filled square in a unit is 1 warrior. Each point of damage removes 1 warrior.

Move (1 gem). Tap the card, then an adjacent empty hex, or drag the card directly onto that hex. Choose an allied unit first if more than one can move.

Attacking. Tap the card, then an adjacent enemy unit, or drag the card directly onto that enemy unit. Choose an allied attacker first if more than one can attack. Both deal their Attack as damage simultaneously. Even a defeated enemy unit strikes back. Defeated units leave their hex empty.

Relief (1 gem). Select one allied unit, then an adjacent allied unit to swap their positions. No damage is dealt. Trajan stays in his hex; support is recalculated after the swap. Tap targets or drag the card onto them. Cancel before the swap finishes to restore both positions without spending gems.

Coordinated Strike (2 gems). Attack an adjacent enemy. Each other living allied unit beside that enemy adds +1 damage, up to +2. Flanking still adds +1. Only the chosen attacker takes retaliation; supporting allies stay unharmed.

Camps and facing. Camps mark each army’s rear: Romans toward the bottom, Dacians toward the top. The front faces the opposing camp. Tap either camp to toggle lines to its units and their three vulnerable rear edges. A rear attack deals +1 damage. Camp hexes block movement and cannot be attacked. A Deploy card places a unit on an empty adjacent hex; enemy units deploy only when the enemy schedule says so.

Deploy (1 gem). Tap the card and then a highlighted hex beside your Roman camp, or drag the card onto that hex. The new unit has the name, Attack, and warriors printed on the card. It can act immediately using other cards. Cancel before choosing a hex to keep your card and gems.

Enemy camp. At the announced turn, the enemy deploys the unit shown in Enemy Moves beside the Dacian camp, as close to your army as possible. If every adjacent hex is blocked, deployment is skipped. Defeat all enemies and resolve every announced wave to win.

Survive the assaults. Keep both starting allied units alive through two complete enemy phases. Move freely and redirect attacks; there is no hex to defend. Losing either unit fails immediately. Victory follows the second assault even if enemies remain, with no third turn.

Extraction. Bring the unit marked “Rescue” onto the turquoise extraction hex by the final turn. Only the named unit counts; an escort or commander arriving does not. Losing that unit fails immediately. Defeating every enemy does not complete a rescue. Extraction checks after the whole card action finishes.

Volley (1 gem). Choose an ally, then an enemy exactly 2 hexes away. Deal 1 damage with no retaliation. The range outline shows distance; intervening units, camps, and commanders do not block the shot. Attack, flanking, Trajan, and supporting allies add no damage. Tap the card or press Escape before the shot lands to cancel without spending gems.

Forced March (2 gems). Choose an ally, then two adjacent empty hexes in order. Units, camps, and commanders block either step; you cannot return to the starting hex. Review both steps, then tap the final destination again to march. Tap the card or press Escape to cancel without spending gems. No attack is included.

Brace (1 gem). Choose a living ally. Each incoming hit deals 1 less damage (minimum 0), including retaliation, through the end of the next enemy turn. Brace refreshes but does not stack. The shield marker shows protection is active.

Taunt (1 gem). Choose a living allied unit. Enemies pursue it next enemy turn and attack it when adjacent. Taunt expires after that turn. It adds no armor or damage.

Enemy turn. End Round makes each enemy move 1 hex toward the closest ally, then attack the adjacent ally with the fewest warriors. A taunted ally takes priority. Units and commanders block movement. Defenders retaliate simultaneously. You then gain gems for your final hand.

Keep every allied unit alive. Losing any allied unit immediately fails this puzzle, even if its attack defeats the last enemy. A unit can lose warriors as long as at least 1 survives.

Shield Bash (1 gem). Select an allied unit, then an adjacent enemy. Push the enemy 1 hex straight away into the marked empty hex. No damage or retaliation. Occupied hexes, commanders, and map edges block the push. You can tap targets or drag the card onto them. Cancel before the push finishes to keep your card and gems.

Rally (2 gems). Choose a living allied unit as the center. It and adjacent allies each recover 1 warrior, up to 10. Review the +1 markers, then tap the same center again to confirm. You can choose another center or press Escape to cancel without spending gems. A full unit can rally wounded neighbors. Enemies, commanders and defeated units are unaffected.

Reinforce (1 gem). Tap the card and then your legion, or drag the card directly onto your legion, to restore 1 warrior, up to 10 per unit. Reinforcing uses the card and spends 1 gem.

Two Attack cards. Each copy can be played once. Playing one leaves the other available.

Trajan. Your legion gains +1 Attack while in a hex adjacent to Trajan. Sharing his hex gives no bonus. Moving either token can gain or lose this support. The gold Attack number includes the bonus.

Support the Lines (1 gem). Tap the card, then an adjacent empty or allied hex, or drag the card directly onto that hex. Trajan is selected automatically. Enemy units block his movement. Trajan cannot attack or keep the army alive alone.

Flanking. Each Dacian unit’s rear faces up the map, toward its camp. Attack from one of the three adjacent hexes above it for +1 damage. Your Roman units’ rear faces down the map. Check the damage preview before choosing the enemy.

Combine the bonuses. Trajan’s +1 Attack and flanking’s +1 damage add together. A legion with 2 base Attack can deal 4 damage with both bonuses. Defenders still retaliate.

One chance per card. Played cards do not return. Finish Turn ends your attempt; you win only if every enemy unit is defeated and at least one allied unit survives. If your entire army falls, the attempt ends immediately—even if the last enemy unit falls too. Restart lets you try again.

Return and draw. Only one Attack and one Move per puzzle can be reusable; extra copies are single-use. After the enemy turn, played cards marked “Return to hand next round” return, and you draw one card from the deck if available. Unplayed cards stay in your hand. Other played cards stay in the graveyard. Drawing costs no gems. The deck draw is random. Ending the final turn finishes your attempt without returning or drawing cards.

Controls. Drag the map to pan; pinch or scroll to zoom. Tap a unit to see its warriors and attack. Tap the selected card again, choose another card, or press Escape to cancel an unfinished action without spending gems.

Your army. Your army is made up of units. Each filled square in a unit is 1 warrior. Each point of damage removes 1 warrior.

Explore the map. Drag to pan and pinch or scroll to zoom. Tap a unit to see its name, type, attack, and warriors.

Play a card. Swipe sideways through your hand. Tap a card and then a highlighted target, or drag the card directly onto a highlighted target. If another target is needed, tap it next. The gem number is its cost.

Automatic selection. When only one unit can Move or Attack, it is selected for you. You still choose the final destination or enemy. Global cards have no target: drag them into the top half of the screen to play them; tapping only selects them.

Take Action. Choose a highlighted allied unit, then an empty adjacent hex. The unit moves one cell. It can share a cell with the commander.

Support the Lines. The commander is selected automatically. Choose an adjacent hex. Empty cells and cells with allied units are allowed; enemy cells are blocked.

Trajan. Roman units in the six adjacent hexes gain +1 Attack. The gold attack value includes this bonus. Sharing his hex does not count as adjacent; moving away removes the bonus.

Reinforcements. Choose a highlighted allied unit to restore 1 warrior, up to 10 per unit.

For the Glory. Choose an allied unit, then an adjacent highlighted enemy unit. Both units deal their Attack as damage simultaneously. Even a defeated enemy unit retaliates. Units at zero warriors leave the map.

Flanking. Attack through one of the defender’s three rear sides to gain +1 Attack: above a Dacian or below a Roman. Flanking targets show +1. This bonus stacks with Trajan’s +1, applies only to that attack, and does not increase retaliation.

Gods Favor. Tap to select, then drag into the upper half of the map to open the graveyard. Choose a played card to return it to your hand. Close the selection popup to cancel without spending gems.

Change your mind? Tap the selected card again, choose another card, or press Escape before the action finishes. No gems are spent on the cancelled action.

After an action. Its gem cost is paid and the card goes to the graveyard. Tap the graveyard pile to view played cards.

Reusable cards. At most one Attack and one Move per puzzle can return automatically; extra copies are single-use. Cards marked “Return to hand next round” return after you play them and survive the enemy turn. Unplayed cards stay in your hand. Other played cards stay in the graveyard unless retrieved.

End round. Resolve the enemy's shown action, gain the puzzle's gems, return played reusable cards, and draw one new card from the deck if available. One remaining deck card is drawn randomly each round; drawing costs no gems. Unspent gems carry over. Ending during an unfinished action cancels it without spending gems. Ending the final turn finishes the attempt without returning or drawing cards.

Win or fail. Defeat every enemy unit while keeping at least one Roman unit alive to win. Losing your last unit fails immediately, even if both armies are wiped out together. The commander cannot be attacked and does not count as an army unit. You also fail if you reach 0 gems in the last round with enemy units remaining, or end that final round. Review the battlefield after a defeat, then tap Try again to restart.

Controls. Objectives and enemy moves stay above the map. Zoom a selected card with its magnifying glass. Use the restart button beside Help to begin again.
